Marlin Sub-Aqua Club is delighted to announce that we have received a £1,200 community grant from Miller Homes West Midlands, which will be used to upgrade our breathing gas compressor — a vital piece of equipment that supports safe training and diving activities for our members.

The grant was awarded through Miller Homes’ Community Fund initiative, which supports local clubs, charities, and volunteer groups. As a volunteer-run club, we rely heavily on fundraising, membership fees, and generous donations like this to maintain and improve our equipment and facilities.

We train every other Thursday evening at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton and offer a full range of scuba diving training, from beginner courses through to advanced qualifications, as well as open-water diving opportunities. Our instructors and committee members all volunteer their time to ensure safe, high-quality training for divers of all experience levels.

Supporting Safe and Accessible Diving

The funding will allow us to upgrade our existing compressor, helping to ensure reliable access to clean breathing gas for training sessions and dives. This is a crucial investment in both safety and accessibility, enabling us to continue offering affordable scuba diving to the local community.

Martin Maple, Diving Officer at Marlin Sub-Aqua Club, said:

“We’re extremely grateful to Miller Homes for their generous support. This funding will make a real difference, helping us maintain safe training standards and continue introducing people to scuba diving — a sport that builds confidence, teamwork, and lifelong skills.”

A Big Thank You

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Miller Homes West Midlands for their generosity and commitment to supporting community groups. Grants like this have a direct impact on grassroots sports clubs and help keep activities accessible for everyone.

If you’re interested in learning to dive, developing your skills, or simply meeting like-minded people, we’d love to welcome you to Marlin Sub-Aqua Club.
